Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms carefully before booking your tour with Hamba Ethiopian Tours. By making a booking, you agree to these terms and conditions.

Section 1

Booking Policy

Reservation Process

To secure your booking with Hamba Ethiopian Tours, a deposit of 30% of the total tour cost is required at the time of booking. The remaining balance must be paid no later than 60 days before the tour departure date.

Confirmation

Upon receipt of your deposit, we will send you a confirmation email with your tour itinerary, meeting point details, and any additional information required for your journey.

Booking Modifications

Requests to modify your booking (dates, accommodations, activities) must be made in writing at least 45 days before departure. Changes are subject to availability and may incur additional charges.

Section 2

Payment Terms

Accepted Payment Methods

We accept payment via bank transfer, credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express), and PayPal. All prices are quoted in US Dollars unless otherwise specified.

Payment Schedule

Deposit: 30% at time of booking. Balance: Due 60 days before departure. For bookings made within 60 days of departure, full payment is required at the time of booking.

Currency & Taxes

All prices are inclusive of applicable local taxes. Currency exchange fluctuations may affect final pricing for non-USD payments. Any additional taxes imposed after booking confirmation may be passed on to the traveler.

Cancellation Rules

Cancellation by Traveler

More than 60 days before departure: Full refund minus $150 administrative fee. 30-60 days: 50% refund. 15-29 days: 25% refund. Less than 15 days: No refund.

Cancellation by Hamba Tours

In the unlikely event we must cancel your tour due to circumstances beyond our control (natural disasters, political instability, insufficient participants), you will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule.

Force Majeure

We are not liable for cancellations, delays, or modifications due to events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, civil unrest, or government actions.

Section 4

Liability

Limitation of Liability

Hamba Ethiopian Tours acts as an intermediary between travelers and service providers (hotels, transport, guides). While we carefully select our partners, we cannot be held liable for their actions or omissions.

Personal Injury & Property

We are not responsible for personal injury, illness, death, or loss/damage to personal property during the tour, except where caused by our proven negligence.

Third-Party Services

Activities such as trekking, wildlife viewing, and cultural experiences carry inherent risks. By participating, you acknowledge and accept these risks.

Section 5

Insurance

Travel Insurance Requirement

Comprehensive travel insurance is MANDATORY for all participants. Your policy must cover trip cancellation, medical emergencies, evacuation, and repatriation with a minimum coverage of $100,000.

Proof of Insurance

You must provide proof of adequate travel insurance at least 14 days before departure. Failure to do so may result in cancellation of your booking.

Recommended Coverage

We strongly recommend coverage for: trip cancellation/interruption, emergency medical treatment, medical evacuation, baggage loss, and flight delays.

Section 6

Client Responsibilities

Travel Documents

You are responsible for ensuring you have valid passports, visas, and any required vaccinations. Hamba Tours can provide guidance but is not responsible for entry denials due to inadequate documentation.

Health & Fitness

You must disclose any medical conditions, dietary requirements, or physical limitations that may affect your participation. Some activities require a reasonable level of fitness.

Conduct

You agree to follow the instructions of tour guides, respect local customs and laws, and behave in a manner that does not endanger yourself or others. We reserve the right to remove participants whose behavior is disruptive.

Accurate Information

All information provided during booking must be accurate. Providing false information may result in cancellation of your tour without refund.
